Uttar Pradesh Wizards (abbreviated as UPW) is field hockey team based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh that plays in the Hockey India League. It is owned by Sahara India Pariwar. Former Dutch coach Roelant Oltmans serves as coach for the team and former Indian captain Dhanraj Pillay acts as the technical director of the team.

The team is owned by Sahara India Pariwar after the company bought the franchise on 23 July 2012. Sahara India is also the chief sponsor of Hockey India the top-federation for hockey in India. This was the first franchise of Hockey India League to be bought.

The hockey team from Lucknow, the Uttar Pradesh Wizards is one of the favorites this year for the championship in the Hockey India League. In the first edition of the Hockey India League the Uttar Pradesh Wizards came really close to making it to the finals but unfortunately they had to remain satisfied with the third spot.
The team of Uttar Pradesh Wizards is owned by the much renowned Sahara India Pariwar. They bought the franchise and the team on the 23rd of July 2012. Sahara India Pariwar is also the chief sponsor of the Indian hockey team. The team is managed by some of the elite players of the former Indian team and is coached by the Dutchman Mr. Roelant Oltmans. The technical director of the Uttar Pradesh Wizards is the very famous former Indian captain Dhanraj Pillay. The captain of the team is V.R. Raghunath. So with all these big names it is expected that the team will do much better than what they did last season.

Ranchi Rhinos beat Uttar Pradesh Wizards 3-2 in a penalty shoot-out to finish third in the Hockey India League (HIL) at the Morabadi Hockey Stadium. And Delhi Waveriders made it to the final of the Hockey India League for the second time in a row beating Uttar Pradesh Wizards 1-0 in first semifinal on Saturday. The fans and all the team members would be looking to push a bit harder this year and make it to the top two and emerge as the winners of the tournament.
