We will update this website and our Facebook as and when we have any further information about a future conference, subject to our Father's Will. Founded back in by a group of young people, this was our 7 th conference, following our 10 year anniversary in We hope you enjoy looking back at UKYC ! Our studies were structured around focusing our lives as disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Mark Vincent UK and Bro. Michael Movassaghi UK ed us for the week and led our studies. Under the heading Hezekiah — The strength of YahBro. John Owen led us in studies around Hezekiah. We saw how Hezekiah is an amazing type of the Lord Jesus Christ. Isaiah prophecies ukyc his reign and speaks about the suffering servant - the Lord Jesus, however these prophecies have their first fulfillment in Hezekiah's lifetime. On top of his suffering with health, Hezekiah has to deal with a major Assyrian invasion, he sees Assyria take Israel the northern kingdom into captivity.
A trip to the Assyrian section of the British Museum, as well as reading the history in King and Chronicles would be great preparation for the studies. We see how the Assyrian invasion is a type of what will happen in end time when Gog, the northern invader, comes down into Israel. Hezekiah's name means 'the strength of Yah', in studying him together we'll be able to strengthen our faith in God and learn to put our problems into God's hands, trusting that he is able to work in our lives.
Mark Vincent led us in studies that look at many aspects of discipleship. What does it mean to be a follower of Christ? How is discipleship meant to affect our behaviour, our activities, and our minds? What is the basis for our moral choices? What does God expect from us and how should we be spending our time? How should we approach gender and relationships, our education and our careers? How do we defend and share our faith, and what is God looking for from us as we seek to follow His son? In this series we thought about many different practical aspects of our lives in Christ and the transforming power of the gospel.
Michael Movassaghi focussed our studies around the faithful sons of Korah, a family who ukyc the test of time, a family who from an early age made a decision to follow God whatever the cost. They are a family ukyc life was defined by one tragic moment, yet despite tragedy they never lost their trust and faith in God. Ukyc fact quite the opposite, tragedy strengthened their trust and faith in God.
We considered this family, their faith, their resolve and how they used experiences of the past to help them ukyc the present; how they dealt ukyc tragedy and perhaps most importantly we considered their hope. We saw how we can mirror their actions in our lives. We considered their writing. On record there are 12 Psalms written by the Sons of Korah.
We got to know them, their character, their vision, their motivation and their hope.
Every day they were fully prepared to meet their God. Are you ready? Are you a son or daughter of Korah? UKYC was set up in by a group of young people who wanted to offer as many young Christadelphians as possible an opportunity to read and discuss God's word together and to grow in friendships ukyc help on the way to the Kingdom.
As we look forward to the sixth UKYC, the committee for are continuing with exactly the same objectives as they remember that all is to be done to God's glory and ukyc to his will.
